Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kent Guerrero (ranked 6094 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tall Man (ranked 8087 p4p, 0 weight class). Tall Man has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kent Guerrero!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tall Man!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Taro Takaoka and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Guerrero scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Guerrero could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Guerrero slips a nice elbow through Man's hands, connecting with Man's forehead.
Guerrero working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Guerrero winds up and cracks Man with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Guerrero is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Guerrero seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Man for as long as he can get away with.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Guerrero connects with a nice short shot to Man's temple.
Man is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Guerrero throwing shots but Man is blocking nicely.
Guerrero perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Man is looking for a sweep. Guerrero is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Guerrero has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Guerrero looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Guerrero continues to stall.
Guerrero prevents Man from standing back up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Man swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Guerrero.
Guerrero takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Guerrero closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Man quickly recovers to half guard.
Guerrero content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Guerrero is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Guerrero has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Guerrero controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Guerrero throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Man works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Guerrero might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Guerrero closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Man quickly recovers to half guard.
We've been informed that Man has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Guerrero is taking a breather. Man says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Guerrero's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

and Man connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Guerrero changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Man looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Man manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Guerrero content to control rather than advance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Guerrero is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Man pushes Guerrero off looking to stand but Guerrero dives back in and keeps control.

Guerrero makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Guerrero's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Man scores with a head kick. Guerrero tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Guerrero shoots in but no luck this time.

Man turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Guerrero manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Man on his heels. He'll look to pass Man's guard now, I'm sure.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Man wants to sweep here but Guerrero controlling him for the moment.
Guerrero is stalling in the full guard.

Man is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Guerrero slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Guerrero is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Guerrero is stalling here. Man is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Guerrero seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Man has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Guerrero pushes Man away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Man gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tall Man showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Man rushes Guerrero and presses him up against the cage.

Guerrero tries to stall but Man uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Man's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Guerrero on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Man lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Guerrero shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Guerrero is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Man has managed to free his arm - good work.

Still in half guard, Guerrero seems content to control.

Man is trying to maintain the position but Guerrero is very close to passing his half guard.

Guerrero stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Man keeps Guerrero at a distance using the push kick.
Man connects with a looping right hand.
Nice jab there from Man.
Guerrero looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Man unleashes a big counter combination but Guerrero bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Man lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Guerrero at a distance.

Man lands with a right hand.
Guerrero misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Guerrero.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kent Guerrero. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Man cracks Guerrero with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Guerrero takes a shot to the body in his stride.

and Man counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Tall Man seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Man throws a good cross that connects.
Man throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

Guerrero takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Man darts in and clinches Guerrero up against the cage.

Man breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Man fakes the leg kick and cracks Guerrero in the body.
Man has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Jab by Man.
Man swinging wildly here.
Guerrero seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Man thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Guerrero if he has to take too many more of those.
Man connects with a body shot.

Guerrero gets a takedown into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Guerrero is just content to waste time from the top position. Man takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
