Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Илья Муромец!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Michael Canavan!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, John Mangel and Francis DeMontford.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Муромец stuffs the takedown attempt from Canavan. Canavan gets slowly back to his feet.
Муромец swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Canavan tries for a takedown but Муромец sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
It looked like Муромец wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Муромец throws out a loose jab but Canavan uses good head movement to avoid it.
Michael Canavan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Муромец is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Canavan.
Муромец tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Canavan was well out of range. Poor timing from Муромец.
Canavan takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Canavan throws a leg kick that is checked
and Муромец counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Муромец blocks a head kick by Canavan.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Canavan takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Canavan looks winded!
Муромец feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Canavan sprawling to the canvas! Canavan rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Муромец finish him?!
Canavan is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Canavan gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Муромец gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Илья Муромец!
Our winner, Илья Муромец, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
