1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Henri De La Cruzeiro ! The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Darius Henderson and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! De La Cruzeiro shoots in and gets a takedown into Jimenez's guard. De La Cruzeiro is looking to stand up but Jimenez won't let him. De La Cruzeiro should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. De La Cruzeiro works a leg free and moves into half guard. De La Cruzeiro controlling the pace. De La Cruzeiro tries to stand but his arm is trapped. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. De La Cruzeiro performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jimenez is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of De La Cruzeiro 's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take De La Cruzeiro 's back! Jimenez doesn't have the hooks in and De La Cruzeiro manages to turn into his guard.
De La Cruzeiro got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jimenez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, De La Cruzeiro has managed to get both his arms back between Jimenez's legs - danger averted. Jimenez definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. De La Cruzeiro working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Jimenez is looking for a triangle but De La Cruzeiro pushes his legs off easily.

It looks like De La Cruzeiro might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jimenez can't keep his opponent in guard - De La Cruzeiro advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. De La Cruzeiro is looking for a kimura here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. De La Cruzeiro controlling the pace. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jimenez tries to roll over but De La Cruzeiro keeps him under control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. De La Cruzeiro seems to be working for a kimura but Jimenez defends the submission attempt. De La Cruzeiro not doing much here.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! De La Cruzeiro instigates a clinch. Jimenez is trying to pull guard but De La Cruzeiro turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. De La Cruzeiro jumps into guard, dragging Jimenez to the mat.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. De La Cruzeiro tries to pass the half guard into mount. Jimenez knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Jimenez is trying to get back to full guard. De La Cruzeiro is figuring out what he wants to do next. Jimenez looking for submissions off his back. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Jimenez tries to close the distance and clinch up but De La Cruzeiro swats him away and circles back towards the center. Jimenez scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
It looks like Henri De La Cruzeiro has been cut. De La Cruzeiro closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - De La Cruzeiro lands in his opponent's guard. Jimenez manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Jimenez is trying to pull guard but De La Cruzeiro turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. De La Cruzeiro avoiding damage.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jimenez is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. De La Cruzeiro wants to get up but he can't break Jimenez's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Jimenez manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. De La Cruzeiro manages to get himself to full guard.

Jimenez would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Jimenez won't allow De La Cruzeiro to get back to his feet. Great action here. Jimenez tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. De La Cruzeiro manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. De La Cruzeiro throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bruno Javier Jimenez is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jimenez moves in looking to clinch but De La Cruzeiro pushes him off. De La Cruzeiro drives through with a takedown into guard. Jimenez tries to land a sweep but no joy. De La Cruzeiro takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Jimenez pushes a forearm under De La Cruzeiro 's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, De La Cruzeiro is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
