Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lowell Bowers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yunieor Dorticosos! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bowers tries to clinch but Dorticosos moves out of range. Dorticosos swats away the attempt to clinch by Bowers. Dorticosos closes the distance and clinches. Dorticosos wants the takedown. Bowers is fighting it off but Dorticosos persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Bowers's guard against the cage. Bowers had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Dorticosos defends it easily. Bowers is trying to keep Dorticosos in close.
Dorticosos is looking to stand up but Bowers won't let him. Dorticosos must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bowers looking to control.
Dorticosos wants to get up but he can't break Bowers's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Dorticosos decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Dorticosos tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Bowers defends well and Dorticosos ends up having to push Bowers into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Bowers misses with the combination.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dorticosos moves into range and connects with a jab.
It looks like Lowell Bowers has been cut. Dorticosos cracks Bowers with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Bowers falls to his knees and Dorticosos doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Yunieor Dorticosos! Our winner, Yunieor Dorticosos, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
