Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Eric Alequin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Middle Weight!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Michael Johnstone and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alequin misses with a hook
and Weight counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Weight loads up on a big right hand but Alequin slips the punch.
Weight throws the left hand but Alequin avoids the punch easily.
Weight slips under a jab.
Alequin waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Weight.
Weight tries to counter by closing the distance.
Weight missing with a left hand there. Alequin was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Alequin throws a poor cross that misses
and Weight counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Weight throws a right and a left that Alequin avoids nicely.
Weight lands with an uppercut that bounces Alequin off the cage and back into range.

Alequin looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Weight!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Weight takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Alequin trying to control the position but Weight is working away.

Alequin looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Alequin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Weight is looking for a sweep.
Alequin misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Weight tries to bench press Alequin off him but Alequin keeps the position.
Weight wants to control but Alequin postures up.
Weight is trying to get back to half guard.

Alequin is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Weight knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Alequin wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Weight, who protects the arm well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Alequin is working to tighten his grip on Weight's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Weight has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Alequin is really squeezing tight and eventually Weight passes out! Alequin breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Eric Alequin!
Our winner, Eric Alequin, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
