Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rivers Naughton (ranked 5210 p4p, 576 weight class) and William Scout (ranked 5797 p4p, 612 weight class). William Scout will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, William Scout! The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Winston Alpacca and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Scout throws a head kick that misses. Scout closes the distance and clinches. Naughton could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Scout misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Naughton.
Scout tries to land knees in the clinch but Naughton avoids the damage to the body. Naughton has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Scout uses from the top position. Naughton has his foot on Scout's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Scout works his way back into a safe position though. Scout must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Naughton works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Naughton cracks Scout with a big right hand but Scout just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Naughton scoring with strikes but Scout is staying in there. Naughton looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rivers Naughton dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Naughton jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Scout walks away with a smile on his face. Naughton gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Scout forces Naughton back against the cage and clinches. Naughton prevents a takedown attempt there.
Scout breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Naughton swats away the attempt to clinch by Scout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Scout stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Scout wants it to stay on the feet. Naughton shoots for a takedown but Scout saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rivers Naughton. That's going to take a lot out of him. Scout closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Naughton to the mat! Naughton manages to get full guard. Naughton might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Naughton tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Scout has a closed guard, preventing Naughton from standing up. Naughton makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Our spies down at at ELITE Island Gym (All Elite Coaches) inform us that Scout has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Naughton sitting in guard, not really doing much. Naughton wants to control from the top but Scout keeps moving. Naughton seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Scout misses with a jab, cross combination.
Naughton looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Naughton is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Scout can do to turn this around? Scout seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Scout is breathing heavily. Naughton controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Rivers Naughton overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Naughton escapes and throws Scout's legs to the side, diving into side control! Scout is trying to improve his position. That was a close second round but I would say that Rivers Naughton will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

And that's the end of the fight! Rivers Naughton showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Naughton, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
