Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Todd Rumper (ranked 2080 p4p, 281 weight class) and Tito Ortiz (ranked 4341 p4p, 520 weight class). Todd Rumper has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Todd Rumper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tito Ortiz !
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Leandro Rodrigues and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ortiz tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rumper sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ortiz somewhat.
It looked like Rumper was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Ortiz instigates a clinch.
Ortiz changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Rumper fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Rumper shoots for a double leg takedown but Ortiz sprawls well. He's pushed Rumper's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Ortiz throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Rumper was covering up waiting for the punch and Ortiz finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Rumper kicks Ortiz off and gets to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rumper throws a big counter combination but Ortiz scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

and Rumper counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Rumper fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ortiz avoids it really well and circles away.

Rumper rushes Ortiz and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Ortiz is pushing Rumper up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Rumper misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Ortiz stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ortiz wants it to stay on the feet.

and Rumper counters with a low kick, right behind Ortiz 's knee.

Ortiz drives through with a takedown into Rumper's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Ortiz must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Rumper tries to strike from the bottom.
Rumper bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ortiz 's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ortiz isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Rumper stacks Ortiz on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Rumper!
Ortiz manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Rumper tries to roll over but Ortiz keeps him under control.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Ortiz shoots in and bounces Rumper off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Rumper manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
We've been informed that Ortiz has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Rumper gets control of Ortiz 's arms and successfully pulls guard. Rumper will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Rumper controls Ortiz momentarily but Ortiz frees himself.
Ortiz slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Ortiz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rumper swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Rumper has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Ortiz off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Rumper tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ortiz defends well and Rumper ends up having to push Ortiz into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Rumper will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Ortiz jumps guard but Rumper stands there with Ortiz around his waist. Ortiz gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Ortiz drives through and clinches with Rumper against the cage.

Rumper changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ortiz tries to avoid it but Rumper manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ortiz to the ground. Ortiz escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Ortiz shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rumper but Rumper pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
