Coming up we have a middleweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Marco Macotti (ranked 3269 p4p, 376 weight class) and Aito Lager (ranked 20442 p4p, 740 weight class). Macotti comes to the cage accompanied by Drown - Theory of a Deadman. Lager is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Army Of The Pharaohs - Seven. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the middleweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 6 wins and 7 losses; Marco Macotti! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Helsinki, with a TWGC record of 3 wins and 2 losses; Aito Lager! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Macotti throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lager's waist but Lager gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Macotti off to one side. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Macotti. Macotti closes the distance and clinches up with Lager, looking for a takedown. Macotti pushes Lager against the cage but Lager circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marco Macotti. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lager has Macotti up against the cage in a clinch.
Lager decides to pull guard. Macotti wants to control from the top but Lager keeps moving. Macotti will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Lager looking for a sweep. Not yet Lager, not yet. Macotti trying to control but Lager is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lager looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Lager throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

That's one minute gone in the round. Lager bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Macotti's guard. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Macotti (0) vs (2) Lager Lager slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Lager sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Macotti's guard. Macotti looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Lager is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Macotti defends it well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lager content to control rather than advance. Lager passes the half guard and he's now in mount! That's two minutes gone in the round. Lager jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Macotti is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Macotti and Lager has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Lager is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Macotti will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Lager is looking to take a break and control but Macotti is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Macotti gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Macotti looking for submissions off his back. Lager is trying for a kimura here. Macotti looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Lager wins by kimura!
