Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baker dives in and scores a takedown into Melton's guard.
Melton is looking for a triangle but Baker pushes his legs off easily.
Baker is looking to stand up but Melton won't let him.
Melton avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Baker wanted to stand there but Melton had control of the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Baker is working Melton over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Baker is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Baker wants to control from the top but Melton keeps moving.
Melton working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Baker doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Baker manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Baker loads up on a big left hand. Melton felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Baker looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Melton can't hide his disappointment, as Baker celebrates the victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jack Baker!
After winning the bout, Jack Baker thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
