The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendoza uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Stalin.
Stalin defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Mendoza.

Stalin decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Stalin slows the pace down in half guard.

Mendoza is defending against the submission attempts here by Stalin.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stalin looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Stalin decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Stalin drives through with a takedown into guard.
Mendoza wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Stalin manages to pass to side control.

Stalin tries to pass the half guard into mount. Mendoza knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Mendoza wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Stalin.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Stalin working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Mendoza turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Stalin off and cradles Mendoza's limp body as Stalin celebrates with his corner.
