Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gigi Casuba (ranked 22672 p4p, 0 weight class) and Duke Hardcastle (ranked 20205 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gigi Casuba! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Duke Hardcastle! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Saam Ante and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hardcastle leaves Casuba with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Jeez, both these guys look absolutely knackered already, that's not a good sign! Hardcastle takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Hardcastle stuffs the takedown. As Casuba backs off Hardcastle throws a huge counter combo but Casuba manages to avoid it all. A kick lands to the mid section there for Casuba. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Casuba throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Hardcastle counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Casuba trying to control the position.
Hardcastle drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hardcastle jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Casuba looking to control but Hardcastle passes into half guard.
Hardcastle wants to free his trapped foot but Casuba is holding on for dear life with his legs. Hardcastle is looking for a kimura here.
Casuba tries to get to full guard but Hardcastle has control of the leg. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Casuba is trying to maintain the position but Hardcastle is very close to passing his half guard. Hardcastle lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Hardcastle passes the guard and advances to mount!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hardcastle jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Casuba manages to avoid the submission attempt. Hardcastle is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Casuba's shoulder. That is not cool. Hardcastle decides to take the fight back to the feet. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Casuba is defended easily by Hardcastle. Hardcastle unleashes a big counter combination but Casuba bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gigi Casuba. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Casuba displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hardcastle. Casuba fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hardcastle avoids it really well and circles away. Hardcastle wants to counter the offense by Casuba and move into the clinch position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Duke Hardcastle dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Casuba. Hardcastle has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Casuba misses with a takedown and Hardcastle counters by clinching up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hardcastle breaks the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Hardcastle lands an elbow. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Hardcastle is staying tight to Casuba's torso, preventing him from escaping. Hardcastle's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. You can see the frustration on Casuba's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Casuba is looking to reverse the position. Duke Hardcastle has got the better of the ground game so far. You can see the frustration on Casuba's face as Hardcastle controls the position. Hardcastle working the ground and pound. Casuba is looking for a sweep. Hardcastle working away. Hardcastle tries for a kimura but Casuba is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Casuba is trying to get back to half guard.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Hardcastle closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Casuba to the mat! Casuba manages to get full guard. Casuba has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Hardcastle has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Casuba drags the fight down to the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Casuba pushes Hardcastle off and gets back to his feet.
Gigi Casuba is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Casuba closes the distance and clinches. Casuba is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Casuba misses with a short punch on the inside. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Gigi Casuba will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Hardcastle lands a body shot.
The fight stays on the outside here - Casuba looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Hardcastle drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Casuba defends it well. Casuba closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hardcastle circles away. Casuba sets himself, and Hardcastle steps forward looking for the clinch! Casuba avoids it this time. Hardcastle scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Hardcastle controlling the action here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Let's hope that Hardcastle has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Casuba wants to get back to his feet. Hardcastle with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Hardcastle looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Casuba! Casuba seems a little lost for a moment, as Hardcastle dominates the positioning. Casuba sneaks back into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hardcastle wants to lay and pray for a moment but Casuba keeps working. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Casuba is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Casuba trying to control from the bottom.
Casuba pushes Hardcastle off and gets back to his feet. Casuba wants to clinch up but Hardcastle keeps it at a distance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Casuba closes the distance and clinches. Hardcastle is trying to break free. Casuba breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Casuba looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Casuba goes for a double leg but Hardcastle avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Hardcastle continues to drive forward. Casuba misses with a double jab
and Hardcastle counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Hardcastle. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Casuba is striking off his back. Hardcastle thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Casuba manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
And that's the end of the fight! Duke Hardcastle comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Hardcastle has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Duke Hardcastle! After the fight, Duke Hardcastle was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
