The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pontes catches Pulmu napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Pulmu to the canvas!
It looks like Jussi Pulmu has been cut.
Pontes throws a big elbow that misses.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Pontes missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Pulmu manages to escape and get back to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Pulmu ducks under a wild hook from Pontes.
Good leg kick by Pulmu there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Pontes takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Pulmu lands with a kick to the ribs.
Pulmu steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Pontes.
Pulmu looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Nuno Pontes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pulmu moves out of range of the strikes.
