PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rock Machine (ranked 3159 p4p, 279 weight class) and Sebastian Shot (ranked 2823 p4p, 253 weight class). Machine comes to the cage accompanied by Hell Yeah. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rock Machine!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 16 - 2, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sebastian Shot!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Machine gets a clinch.
Machine tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Shot's elbow.
Machine avoids the elbow strike from Shot, against the cage.
Shot throws an elbow that misses.
Machine blocks an elbow strike.
Shot is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Shot is leaning against Machine and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Shot will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Machine up against the cage.

Machine escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Shot tries to keep at a distance but Machine has taken the fight into the clinch.

Shot cracks Machine with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Shot shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Shot showed some decent athleticism there.
Shot is stalling here. Machine is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Shot seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Machine has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Shot lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Shot thows a left - swing and a miss!
Shot has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Shot moves out of range of the body kick from Machine.
Shot slips a jab from Machine.
Shot slips a jab and a cross from Machine.
Shot appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Machine will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Machine misses the jab.
Machine slips a straight right by Shot.
Shot blocks a jab.
Shot throws out a counter right but Machine avoids it with no problem.
A telegraphed right hand from Shot misses the target.
Shot's corner calls for a 1-2. Shot obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Machine changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Shot looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Shot tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Machine wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Rock Machine will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Machine rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Shot moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Shot swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Machine connects with a leg kick. Shot looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Machine throws a head kick but Shot moves out of range.
Shot wants to counter the offense by Machine and move into the clinch position.
Shot chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Machine can pounce on him.

Shot swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Machine is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Shot can do to turn this around?

Machine looks to land a left hand but Shot moved out of range nicely.

Machine tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Shot paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Machine dives in for a single leg takedown but Shot sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Shot stalks Machine and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Machine's face. Machine staggers backwards, shaken.
Machine shoots in looking for a takedown. Shot tries to sprawl out of it but Machine keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Shot manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rock Machine. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Machine makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
