Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Steve Nash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and LaDainian Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The crowd cheers as Johnson lands an impressive looking overhand right. Nash doesn't seem phased though. Nash connects with a good right hand that stumbles Johnson. Johnson circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Nash cracks Johnson with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Johnson fails to land with a series of punches.
Johnson missing with a left hand there. Nash was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Nash throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Nash ducks under a wild hook from Johnson. Nash connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Nash throws a right and a left that Johnson avoids nicely. Nash throws a right and a left that both miss. The fighters circling - Johnson throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Nash moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Johnson goes down! Can Nash finish him!?

Johnson is still in real trouble! Can Nash finish him? We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Johnson can do anything to dispel that myth. Nash prevents Johnson from getting back to his feet. Johnson seems to have recovered his senses. Johnson throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Johnson is working an open guard so Nash takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Nash ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Johnson moves away. Nash moves into range and connects with a jab. Johnson throws a hook but Nash blocks it. Nash jabs Johnson right on the nose. Johnson blinks but takes it well. Nash throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Johnson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Johnson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Nash manages to avoid it. Nash scores with a jab to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Johnson on the wrong end of a nice hook. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Johnson staying out of range there. Nash drops Johnson with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Johnson! Nash dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
