Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tomasz Taraszewski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sergei Olyanek! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yukihiro Shimada and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Olyanek shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Olyanek closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Olyanek tries for a kimura but Taraszewski is defending well. Olyanek wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Taraszewski, who protects the arm well. Taraszewski struggling a bit here. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Olyanek tries for a kimura but Taraszewski is defending well. Taraszewski sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Olyanek prevents Taraszewski from standing back up.

Taraszewski is trying to maintain the position but Olyanek is very close to passing his half guard. Olyanek is looking for a kimura but Taraszewski is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Olyanek to get the leverage. Taraszewski is looking to escape. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Olyanek blocks a head kick by Taraszewski.
Olyanek closes the distance and clinches up with Taraszewski, looking for a takedown. Olyanek pushes Taraszewski against the ropes but Taraszewski circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Olyanek throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Taraszewski's waist but Taraszewski gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Olyanek off to one side. Tomasz Taraszewski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sergei Olyanek. A nice leg kick lands there from Taraszewski. Taraszewski throws a head kick but Olyanek moves out of range.
Nice jab there from Taraszewski. Sergei Olyanek seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Taraszewski tries to clinch up but Olyanek circles away and keeps his distance. Taraszewski lands a nice looking body kick. Taraszewski scores with a spinning back kick! Taraszewski tries to clinch but Olyanek moves out of range. Taraszewski tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Olyanek avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Taraszewski wants to get back to full guard. Olyanek is looking for a kimura here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Olyanek is looking to advance position but Taraszewski won't allow it. Olyanek is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Taraszewski is just riding it out for now. Olyanek eventually gives up the hold. Olyanek is trying to work for a kimura but Taraszewski is defending well.

Taraszewski tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Olyanek paws at him with a jab and circles away. Olyanek takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Olyanek shoots in for a double leg but Taraszewski sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Olyanek looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Taraszewski throws a push kick but Olyanek slaps the foot to one side. Taraszewski darts in and clinches Olyanek up against the ropes. Taraszewski prevents the takedown attempt.
Tomasz Taraszewski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sergei Olyanek. Olyanek has Taraszewski pressed up against the ropes and is working for takedown. Taraszewski manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Olyanek tries for a takedown but Taraszewski manages to get underhooks.

A head kick from Taraszewski lands but Olyanek takes it in his stride. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Taraszewski.
Olyanek takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Olyanek looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Taraszewski throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Taraszewski throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Olyanek escapes and throws Taraszewski's legs to the side, diving into side control! Olyanek has hold of Taraszewski's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Taraszewski tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Olyanek cranks the arm and Taraszewski screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Taraszewski, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
