Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sydney Woods (ranked 6020 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lee Rowlands (ranked 7716 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee Rowlands has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sydney Woods! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lee Rowlands! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, William Peck and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rowlands shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Rowlands is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Rowlands sitting and controlling from the half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rowlands thows a huge punch but Woods dodges it nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rowlands gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Rowlands checks a leg kick. Rowlands drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Woods really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Woods is trying to get back to half guard. Rowlands decides to stand back up. Rowlands throws a nice inside leg kick. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Rowlands. Woods shrugs it off though. Rowlands looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Woods!
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Woods is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Rowlands trying to control the position but Woods is working away. Rowlands working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Woods tries to improve position but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rowlands controls the position. Rowlands misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Rowlands throws a strike aimed at the side of Woods's head but Woods avoids it well. Woods is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Rowlands asserts his dominance and retains side control. Rowlands throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Rowlands working the ground and pound but Woods is defending the strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Woods tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Rowlands wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Woods manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Rowlands trying to pass the guard but Woods defending well. Rowlands is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Rowlands performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Rowlands shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Woods's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lee Rowlands dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Rowlands is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Woods's half guard. Woods tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Rowlands manages to move to mount!

He hasn't managed just yet though. Rowlands sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Woods defending well though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rowlands slows the pace down in half guard. Woods is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Still in half guard, Rowlands seems content to control. Woods actively working from the bottom here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Woods has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rowlands is working away from the top position though. Rowlands throwing shots but Woods is blocking nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Rowlands prevents Woods from improving his position. Rowlands takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Rowlands throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Rowlands trying to control the action but Woods is working from the bottom. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Rowlands is taking a breather. Woods says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Rowlands pushes Woods up against the cage in a clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Woods drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Rowlands manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Rowlands works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Woods looks to throw an elbow but misses. Woods is trying to break free. Woods can't get the takedown.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Rowlands is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Woods can't fight it off and eventually Rowlands manages to take the fight to the floor. Woods looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Woods is working an open guard so Rowlands takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Rowlands drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Rowlands controls from within his opponent's guard. Rowlands stands and steps away. Woods gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lee Rowlands showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Woods's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Woods is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Rowlands has just dragged him back down to the mat. Rowlands controlling from side mount. A little jabbing left from Rowlands on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Rowlands fails to land with a series of punches.
Woods tries to counter by clinching up but Rowlands breaks away and moves out of range. Rowlands looks to land a body kick but Woods moved away. Rowlands feints and as Woods raises his hands in defense, Rowlands changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Rowlands stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Woods swivels though and keeps the full guard. Rowlands takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Woods is trying to control the position but Rowlands postures up. Rowlands throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Woods works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Woods will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Rowlands trying to control the position from guard on top but Woods is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Woods can't keep his opponent in guard - Rowlands advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Woods blocking the ground and pound attempt from Rowlands. Lee Rowlands has got the better of the ground game so far. Woods looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rowlands missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Woods wants to get back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Rowlands looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Rowlands forces Woods back against the cage and clinches. Rowlands blocking some punches.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Woods is fighting off a takedown attempt but Rowlands is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Woods to the mat. Woods regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Rowlands is standing up over Woods. Woods looks to escape but Rowlands dives into side control.
And that's the end of the fight! Sydney Woods showed his dominance in that final round. Well Rowlands has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
