Coming up we have a bantamweight kickboxing rules bout between Carter Jose De La Cus (ranked 5149 p4p, 222 weight class) and Keith Stone (ranked 22162 p4p, 368 weight class). Jose De La Cus kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Patrick Cowley - Menergy. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 16 - 3, fighting out of Tokyo, Carter Jose De La Cus! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Keith Stone! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Kenichi Hosakawa and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stone gets in close and instigates a clinch. Jose De La Cus doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Jose De La Cus blocks a body shot from Stone. I was talking to Jose De La Cus's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Stone. Stone breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Jose De La Cus lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Stone circles away quickly and effectively. Stone looks to land a combination. Jose De La Cus sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Jose De La Cus missing with a left hand there. Stone was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Stone throws a right hand that Jose De La Cus ducks under and follows up with a left that Jose De La Cus also avoids with ease. Stone throws a jab when Jose De La Cus was well out of range. Jose De La Cus throws a hook but Stone blocks it. A jab from Stone misses. Jose De La Cus is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

This has been an exciting period of action! Jose De La Cus throws a nice looking combination but Stone bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Stone stalks Jose De La Cus and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Jose De La Cus's face. Jose De La Cus staggers backwards, shaken. Stone lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Stone. Stone tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jose De La Cus swats him away and circles back towards the center. Stone takes a swing at Jose De La Cus's ribcage but misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stone takes one to the chin there. Stone fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Stone ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Jose De La Cus lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Jose De La Cus is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Stone. A left lands for Jose De La Cus. Jose De La Cus keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Stone. Jose De La Cus throws a right hand that Stone ducks under and follows up with a left that Stone also avoids with ease. Stone misses with an uppercut
and Jose De La Cus counters with a series of strikes. Stone will be more careful next time no doubt. Stone has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. This has been an exciting period of action! A swing and a miss from Stone. Stone bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. The fighters circle momentarily. Stone darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Stone fails to land with a series of punches.

Stone let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. The fighters circle momentarily. Stone darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Stone moves into the clinch. Nice body punch from Stone. Stone pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Jose De La Cus is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stone fails to land with a series of punches.
Stone goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Stone rushes Jose De La Cus and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch. Stone struggles to land a body shot inside as Jose De La Cus controls his hands.
Stone can't find room to land a body shot as Jose De La Cus controls the action.
Stone breaks from the clinch.
Stone throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Stone rushes Jose De La Cus and presses him up against the ropes. A head punch on the inside from Stone fails to land. Stone keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Jose De La Cus's efforts to push away. Stone lands a shoulder strike. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. A head punch on the inside from Stone fails to land. Stone breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Keith Stone seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Stone moves in looking to clinch but Jose De La Cus pushes him off. Jose De La Cus uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Stone. Stone dodges the punch combination from Jose De La Cus.
A little jabbing left from Stone on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Jose De La Cus throws a right hand that Stone ducks under and follows up with a left that Stone also avoids with ease. Stone shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Jose De La Cus misses with an uppercut. Stone saw that one coming. Nice straight punches there by Stone. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Stone. Stone looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Stone cracks Jose De La Cus with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Jose De La Cus is rocked! Stone connects with a right hand. Jose De La Cus shakes it off. Oh Jose De La Cus is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! BAM! Stone delivers a spinning backfist that drops Jose De La Cus like a ragdoll! This is all oooooveeeer! He was out before he hit the ground!
