Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kordell Bailey Sr. (ranked 493 p4p, 66 weight class) and Henkka Seppala (ranked 1911 p4p, 244 weight class). Bailey Sr. comes to the cage accompanied by Damian Marley - Road To Zion. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

32 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kordell Bailey Sr.! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
29 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Henkka Seppala! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Sosuke Kotani and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice uppercut there from Bailey Sr.. Seppala misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Seppala closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bailey Sr. circles away. Nice body punch from Bailey Sr.. Seppala changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bailey Sr. tries to avoid it but Seppala manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bailey Sr. to the ground. Bailey Sr. escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. A big left from Seppala misses. A counter left hand to the body from Bailey Sr. misses its target. Bailey Sr. defending well as Seppala loads up on a big left hand. Seppala throws a leg kick but Bailey Sr. moved away. Bailey Sr. avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Seppala misses with a hook. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bailey Sr. preventing the sweep. Bailey Sr. distracts Seppala with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Bailey Sr. postures up and lands a big shot to Seppala's brow. Seppala wants to sweep but no luck. Bailey Sr. has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Bailey Sr. wants to control from the top but Seppala keeps moving. Bailey Sr. controls from within his opponent's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Bailey Sr. throwing strikes but missing. Seppala controls Bailey Sr. momentarily but Bailey Sr. frees himself. Seppala wants to sweep but no luck. Bailey Sr. trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Bailey Sr. is in close to Seppala's body, working some short punches and elbows. Seppala is trying to keep Bailey Sr. in close.

Seppala wants to control but Bailey Sr. is keeping busy and won't allow it. Bailey Sr. wants to work for an arm triangle but Seppala is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Bailey Sr. wants to take a breather but Seppala is having none of it. Seppala tries to kick Bailey Sr. off but Bailey Sr. keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bailey Sr. looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Seppala with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Bailey Sr. lands a nice short elbow. Seppala wants to improve his position but Bailey Sr. is controlling well.

Bailey Sr. prevents Seppala from getting back to his feet. Bailey Sr. keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Seppala's head. Bailey Sr. landing with the ground and pound. Bailey Sr. tries to free his leg and advance position but Seppala is retaining full guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Seppala has momentary wrist control but Bailey Sr. slips an elbow through the middle. Seppala is controlling Bailey Sr.'s posture. Bailey Sr. content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Bailey Sr. is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Seppala sees it coming and defends easily. Bailey Sr. lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Bailey Sr. is just content to waste time from the top position. Seppala takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Bailey Sr. slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bailey Sr. has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Bailey Sr. sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Seppala's guard.

It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Bailey Sr. jumps into side control! Seppala is trying to improve his position. Bailey Sr. lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Seppala down.
Seppala throws Bailey Sr. to one side and escapes! Bailey Sr. throws a body punch but Seppala moves out of range. Bailey Sr. ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Seppala moves away. Bailey Sr. misses the shot to the body. Seppala with the counter takedown but Bailey Sr. avoids it easily. Seppala shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Bailey Sr. defends it nicely.

Seppala throws a right hand that Bailey Sr. ducks under and follows up with a left that Bailey Sr. also avoids with ease. A swing and a miss from Seppala. Bailey Sr. swings for the body but Seppala moves out of range.

Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bailey Sr. displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Seppala. As Seppala looks to move away, Bailey Sr. throws a big counter combo but Seppala just gets out of the way. Bailey Sr. misses the shot to the body. Seppala is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Bailey Sr..
That's three minutes gone in the round. Seppala's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Bailey Sr. connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Seppala scrambles back to his feet.
Seppala is rocked! Seppala shoots in looking for a takedown but Bailey Sr. manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Seppala's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Seppala is still on wobbly legs! Can Bailey Sr. finish him? Kordell Bailey Sr. has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Henkka Seppala. A momentary lapse in concentration from Bailey Sr. enables Seppala to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Bailey Sr. manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Bailey Sr. working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Seppala doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Seppala manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Seppala seems to have recovered his senses. Bailey Sr. is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Bailey Sr. is trying to keep Seppala in close.

Is there anything that Seppala can do to turn this around? Seppala lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Bailey Sr. pulls Seppala in close to prevent any damage. Seppala throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bailey Sr.'s waist but Bailey Sr. gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Seppala off to one side. Seppala scores with a sloppy right hand. Bailey Sr. should have avoided that one. Seppala will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Seppala misses with a takedown attempt - Bailey Sr. sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Kordell Bailey Sr. has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Henkka Seppala. Seppala misses with a series of wild punches.
Bailey Sr. darts in and out, connecting with a jab. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Seppala stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Henkka Seppala seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bailey Sr. throws out a loose jab but Seppala uses good head movement to avoid it. Seppala fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

A quick step to the side and Bailey Sr. tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Seppala throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

and Bailey Sr. counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Bailey Sr.. Bailey Sr. is pressed up against the cage. Seppala has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Bailey Sr. down to the mat. Bailey Sr. avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Seppala goes for a double leg but Bailey Sr. avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Bailey Sr. continues to drive forward. Bailey Sr. appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. A looping hook to the body misses from Bailey Sr.. Seppala does a little dance to reset his feet. Bailey Sr. just misses with a punch to the body.
Seppala looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bailey Sr. is fending him off so far but Seppala persists. Nope, Bailey Sr. circles away and we're back to standing. Bailey Sr. throws a nice looking combination but Seppala bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Seppala shoots and misses and Bailey Sr. counters with a right hand to the body. Seppala takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Seppala throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Bailey Sr. was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Seppala misses the body punch and Bailey Sr. cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Seppala swings widly with a right hand
and Bailey Sr. holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Bailey Sr..
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice body punch from Bailey Sr.. Bailey Sr. is working Seppala over against the cage. Bailey Sr. digs a right hand into Seppala's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Seppala's gas tank. Bailey Sr. has picked Seppala up - he's going for a ride! Bailey Sr. dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Bailey Sr. is figuring out what he wants to do next. Bailey Sr. lands strikes from half guard. Bailey Sr. wants to lay and pray for a moment but Seppala keeps working. Bailey Sr. slows the pace down in half guard. Bailey Sr. winds up and cracks Seppala with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Still in half guard, Bailey Sr. seems content to control. Seppala tries to roll over but Bailey Sr. keeps him under control. We've been hearing good reports from Bailey Sr.'s training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Bailey Sr. controlling the pace. Bailey Sr. landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Bailey Sr. is keen to just control but Seppala is a slippery customer. Seppala is trying to maintain the position but Bailey Sr. is very close to passing his half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Seppala stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Bailey Sr. is looking for the KO! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Seppala tries a head kick but it misses.
Bailey Sr. shoots in for a takedown. Oh, that's a huge slam! Seppala is on queer street and Bailey Sr. is pounding down on him with a barage of strikes. The ref is forced to step in and stop the fight. Great finish!
