PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Babcock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matogo Bicue (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Matogo Bicue was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Taro Takaoka.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bicue scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Babcock avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Babcock gets caught flat footed, as Bicue shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Babcock wants to sweep here but Bicue controlling him for the moment.
Bicue lands a couple of elbows.
Bicue trying to control the position from guard on top but Babcock is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bicue in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Babcock utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Babcock is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Bicue is controlling him.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Bicue looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
A combination from Bicue does no damage.

Bicue lands with a right hand.
Babcock has his takedown stuffed

and Bicue counters with a takedown into side control.
Babcock avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Bicue.
Babcock is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Bicue trying to control the position but Babcock is working away.
Bicue might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Babcock kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

so Bicue counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Bicue stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Babcock has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Bicue manages to get his head free but now Babcock has transitioned to an armbar! Bicue grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Babcock! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
