Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Fred Hermosa (ranked 3928 p4p, 405 weight class) and Donald Markham (ranked 22843 p4p, 698 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Paulo Santos and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Markham fakes the leg kick and cracks Hermosa in the body.
Markham displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hermosa.
Markham flicks out a counter leg kick but Hermosa steps away.
Markham looks for a takedown but Hermosa sprawls well.
Markham keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Markham leaves Hermosa with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Markham lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Markham moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Hermosa.
Hermosa wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Markham decides to stand back up. Markham steps back and let's Hermosa get back to his feet.

Markham wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Markham pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Markham shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Hermosa flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Hermosa is looking to control Markham's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hermosa avoid being mounted?
Hermosa is refusing to be controlled, as Markham sits in half guard.

Markham goes for a double leg but Hermosa avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Hermosa continues to drive forward.
Markham throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hermosa was covering up waiting for the punch and Markham finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Hermosa is wriggling around but Markham manages to pass to half guard.
Markham tries to stand but can't do so whilst Hermosa controls his leg.

Markham takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Hermosa throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.

Hermosa is squirming around, avoiding Markham's attempts to control the action.
Markham tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Donald Markham has got the better of the ground game so far.
Markham is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Hermosa can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Markham trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Hermosa is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Markham has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Markham landing strikes from the mount and Hermosa is in trouble!
Hermosa is rocked!
Markham looking to isolate an arm here. Hermosa doesn't see it coming and as Markham extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Markham!
