Coming up we have a featherweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Jake Stevens (ranked 9533 p4p, 483 weight class) and Johnny DeCoco (ranked 23446 p4p, 0 weight class). Stevens comes to the cage accompanied by Johnny Nash - "Stir It Up". This should be a great matchup!

And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 0 losses; Johnny DeCoco! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Sam Margolis and Paul Tew.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. DeCoco darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. DeCoco wants to free his trapped foot but Stevens is holding on for dear life with his legs. DeCoco moves into full mount! Stevens won't be happy about that! That's two minutes gone in the round. Stevens tries to escape but DeCoco has the hooks in and won't let him break free. DeCoco is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Stevens knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Stevens for a finish. DeCoco is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Stevens doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Stevens manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. DeCoco being controlled here, momentarily. DeCoco keeping moving, preventing Stevens from controlling successfully. DeCoco is trying to control the position but Stevens postures up.

Stevens doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Stevens manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. DeCoco is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. DeCoco escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Stevens gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. DeCoco has control of Stevens's left arm, preventing Stevens from doing any damage.

DeCoco had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Stevens defends it easily. Stevens wants to control from the top but DeCoco keeps moving.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. DeCoco is controlling Stevens's posture. Stevens drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and DeCoco dives on top into guard. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Stevens (2) vs (10) DeCoco DeCoco is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Stevens has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but DeCoco can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. DeCoco tries to free his leg and advance position but Stevens is retaining full guard.

DeCoco trying to mount his opponent but Stevens defends it.

God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! DeCoco looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. DeCoco is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Stevens will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
