The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shigeki Sano and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson is looking to land body kicks.
Anderson throws a series of punches but Higgins moves out of range.

Higgins gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Anderson to score an easy takedown into full guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Anderson looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Higgins tries to land a sweep but no joy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Anderson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Anderson goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Higgins has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Anderson but great work by Higgins.

Higgins wants to lay and pray for a moment but Anderson keeps working.

Anderson is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Higgins asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Higgins has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Anderson finds it's way round the side to connect with Higgins's head.

Higgins feints and then cracks Anderson's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Anderson down.

Anderson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Higgins, pushing him back against the cage.

Higgins stops Anderson from standing up.
Higgins has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Anderson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Higgins avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Anderson. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Higgins has a hand on Anderson's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Anderson takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Abe Anderson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Anderson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Well Anderson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
