Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bryan Mccullough (ranked 6114 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kurt Turtle (ranked 6113 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kurt Turtle!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yukihiro Shimada and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turtle lands an overhand right.
Turtle looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mccullough is fending him off so far but Turtle persists. Nope, Mccullough circles away and we're back to standing.

Kurt Turtle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Turtle is looking to clinch.
Turtle misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Nice takedown defense from Mccullough. No joy for Turtle on that attempt.

Mccullough went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Mccullough displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Turtle.
Mccullough really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Mccullough escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Mccullough closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Mccullough takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Mccullough has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Turtle uses from the top position.
Turtle must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mccullough is on top in guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Mccullough slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Mccullough will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Mccullough seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Turtle for as long as he can get away with.

Turtle wants to clinch up but Mccullough keeps it at a distance.
Turtle shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Mccullough is looking to counter with head kicks.
Turtle changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mccullough tries to avoid it but Turtle manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mccullough to the ground. Mccullough escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Turtle tries to close the distance and clinch but Mccullough swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Turtle shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mccullough but Mccullough pushes him off and we're back to square one.

and Mccullough counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
