Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Niko Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Brown!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Joseph Jones and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown closes the distance and pushes Diaz back into the cage.
Diaz wants to get back to striking at distance but Brown won't allow it.
Diaz tries for a takedown but Brown manages to get underhooks.
Diaz trying to control the position but instead, Brown has worked for underhooks and has pushed Diaz into the cage.
Brown gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Diaz.
A short right from Brown on the inside.
Brown throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Brown creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Brown blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Diaz has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Brown is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Niko Diaz. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Brown as Diaz tries to tie him up.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Brown is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Brown working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Brown lands a hook to the side of the head.
Diaz is looking to control Brown's arms but Brown gets an underhook and turns him. Now Diaz has his back to the cage.

A right handed body shot lands from Brown.
Diaz is breathing heavily.
Brown lands a left hand that snaps the head of Diaz backwards.
Brown lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Diaz or not.
A short uppercut from Brown.
Brown lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Diaz is rocked!
Brown pushes Diaz against the cage. Brown is working some dirty boxing. Brown pushes off with a quick right hook! Diaz goes down! Diaz tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Brown moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mike Brown!
