PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vasili Komaroff (ranked 1068 p4p, 137 weight class) and Michael Hayes (ranked 1672 p4p, 198 weight class). Hayes comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Blood Warriors kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Vasili Komaroff has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Komaroff misses with a low kick.
Hayes swings for the body but Komaroff moves out of range.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Komaroff.

and Hayes counters with a straight right hand.
Hayes scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Komaroff bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Hayes pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Michael Hayes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hayes cracks a nice hook into Komaroff's ribs.
Komaroff does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Hayes let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

Hayes is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Komaroff dives into side control.

Komaroff postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hayes tries to score with some ground and pound. Komaroff controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Hayes working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
