Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Winkle (ranked 5576 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Johnson (ranked 5626 p4p, 505 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnny Winkle! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Johnson! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A left and a right from Johnson both land. Nice combination. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Johnson, as that shot connected.
Winkle throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Johnson lands with a right hand. Winkle needs to keep his hands up - Johnson had a free shot at his head there. Winkle tries to clinch but fails miserably and Johnson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Johnson scores with a sloppy right hand. Winkle should have avoided that one. Winkle drives through with a takedown into Johnson's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Johnson is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Winkle presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Johnson looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Johnson stalling in the clinch.

Winkle tries to circle away but Johnson has him pinned against the cage. Johnson lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Winkle or not.

Johnson lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Johnson lands a right hand. A body shot lands from Johnson.
Johnson throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Winkle breaks from the clinch.
A head kick by Winkle misses and Johnson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Johnson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Johnson smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Winkle shoots for a double leg takedown but Johnson sprawls well. He's pushed Winkle's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Johnson throws a combination. Winkle tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Johnson cracks Winkle with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. This has been an exciting period of action! Winkle takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Johnson misses with the combination.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson thuds his right hand into Winkle's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Johnson stuffs the takedown. Johnson scores with a decent looking hook. Johnson slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Winkle will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johnny Winkle. That's going to take a lot out of him. Winkle takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Johnson stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Winkle drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Johnson is looking for a sweep. Johnson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Winkle content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Winkle wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Johnson, who protects the arm well. A lull in the action here. Winkle decides to stand back up.

Nice jab by Johnson. Winkle looks to throw a body kick and Johnson counters with a two punch combo. Johnson throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Winkle on the side of the head. Johnson getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Winkle misses with a series of wild punches.
Johnson lands a head shot. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Winkle falls off balance throwing a combination
and Johnson counters with a stiff right hand. Johnson is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Winkle had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Winkle bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Johnson throws Winkle to one side and escapes! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Johnson dominated that round. That's time! Winkle's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Winkle looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Johnson lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
John Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Winkle throws a series of punches but Johnson avoids them all with ease. Johnson lunges at Winkle with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Winkle's hand. Johnson lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Johnson scores with the left hand. Winkle knows he should have avoided that one. Johnny Winkle is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. This has been an exciting period of action! Johnson misses with a few strikes there.

Winkle goes for a double leg but Johnson avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Johnson continues to drive forward. Johnson throws out a counter right but Winkle avoids it with no problem. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johnny Winkle. That's going to take a lot out of him. Johnson connects with a body shot. Johnson lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Johnson. Johnson scores with a shot to the body.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Johnson closes the distance and lands a one-two. Winkle is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Johnson. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! Johnson has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Johnson displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Johnson scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Johnson pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Winkle back to the cage. Johnson follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Johnson is working the combinations to good effect here. A jab from Johnson finds it's way through Winkle's defenses. Johnson connects with a single shot there. Winkle changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Johnson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Johnson can't do much from the bottom here. Winkle controls the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Johnson is positioning himself to get back to half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Winkle taking a breather here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Winkle is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Johnson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Winkle tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Winkle has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Winkle connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Johnson some visible discomfort.

John Johnson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Winkle fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Johnson to the ground. Winkle is now in Johnson's guard. Winkle has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Johnson can do anything to dispel that myth. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Winkle prevents Johnson from improving his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Winkle trying to control the pace. Johnson tries to get to full guard but Winkle has control of the leg. Winkle performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Johnson is trying to get back to full guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Winkle moves in looking to clinch but Johnson pushes him off. Winkle gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Johnson. Johnson throws a right and a left that both miss. Johnson's jab looks to have found its range, popping Winkle under the eye. Winkle drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Winkle is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Johnny Winkle overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Winkle passes easily into side control. Nice work. Winkle content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Winkle looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Johnson is looking for a sweep. Winkle moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Johnny Winkle. I think Johnson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
