Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lynn Steinheiser!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ray Nathan!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Topper Green and Darius Henderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steinheiser darts in looking for a takedown but Nathan gets double underhooks and turns Steinheiser into the cage.
Steinheiser definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Nathan throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Steinheiser stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Nathan connects with a right hand. Steinheiser shakes it off.
Steinheiser shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Nathan as he jumps to the side.
Steinheiser darts in looking for a takedown but Nathan gets double underhooks and turns Steinheiser into the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lynn Steinheiser. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nathan feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Steinheiser's calf.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nathan scores with a jab. Steinheiser acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Steinheiser changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Nathan tries to avoid it but Steinheiser manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Nathan to the ground. Nathan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Steinheiser misses with a takedown
and Nathan counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Nathan has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Steinheiser is landing a low percentage of strikes.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Crunch! Nathan slams his shin into Steinheiser's torso.
Steinheiser shoots for a takedown but Nathan saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Lynn Steinheiser seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Steinheiser stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Nathan.
Nathan bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Steinheiser decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Nathan is trying to get back to full guard.

Nathan has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Steinheiser. Oh but Nathan has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Steinheiser goes limp - he's gone! Nathan jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Ray Nathan!
