Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gerry Kelly (ranked 117 p4p, 17 weight class) and Michel Teló (ranked 723 p4p, 103 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Teló's choice of entrance music: Michel Telo - Ai se eu te pego. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Michel Teló was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
27 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Gerry Kelly! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
30 - 15 - 2, fighting out of London, Michel Teló! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Russell Pearce and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kelly is looking to land body kicks. Teló plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Teló fails to land the takedown. Kelly appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Teló gets a clinch. Teló throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Teló breaks the clinch.
Kelly lands a nice looking kick to the body. Teló takes a step back to recover. Teló throws a nice inside leg kick. Teló feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Kelly manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Teló tries to stall but Kelly uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Teló breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's one minute gone in the round. Teló clinches up with Kelly and pushes him back against the cage. A quick uppercut on the inside from Kelly. Teló using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Kelly has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Kelly will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Teló up against the cage. Kelly manages to break the clinch.
Kelly fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Teló, pushing him back against the cage. A short right from Kelly on the inside. Kelly goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Teló gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Teló wants to get back to his feet.
Kelly pushes Teló off looking to stand but Teló dives back in and keeps control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Teló missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Teló performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Teló has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Teló wants to take a breather but Kelly is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kelly tries to kick Teló off but Teló keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Teló looks to land a strike but Kelly avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Teló's corner is telling him to maintain position. Teló wants to control from the top but Kelly keeps moving.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kelly throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Teló shoots in but no luck this time. It looked like Kelly wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Teló misses with the combination.
Kelly throws a body shot but no joy. A nice side step and Teló releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Teló takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Teló throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

We've been told by Kelly's head coaches at Zero Tolerance that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Kelly takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Teló tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Kelly seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. A cross from Teló lands. Kelly misses with a looping left. Kelly lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Kelly on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Teló lands with an overhand left. Kelly connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Teló tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kelly manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Teló feints and then cracks Kelly's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kelly down. Kelly swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Teló steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kelly. Teló changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Teló feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Kelly is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Teló is controlling him. Kelly keeping moving, preventing Teló from controlling successfully. That was a close round but I would say that Gerry Kelly will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Teló shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kelly's guard. Kelly has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Teló is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Kelly can't find room to land a body shot as Teló controls the action.
Teló tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Teló jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kelly walks away with a smile on his face. Teló gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. A left and a right from Teló both land. Nice combination. Teló tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kelly paws at him with a jab and circles away. Kelly throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Teló shoots for a takedown but Kelly saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Kelly throws a lazy right hand but Teló sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Teló moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
It looks like Michel Teló has been cut. Teló misses with the body kick and Kelly counters with a deadly accurate combination that rocks Teló badly! He tries to strike back but Kelly puts an end to that with another precision combo that knocks Teló out cold! Oh man, Teló will never hear the end of this one!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Gerry Kelly! Gerry Kelly retains his light heavyweight title! A victorious Gerry Kelly thanked his army of followers in his post fight interview, telling people to make sure they follow him on Twitter.
