Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Aslambek Futin (ranked 9264 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mamed Materla (ranked 5394 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Futin slips under a jab.
Futin throwing a counter right hand but Materla manages to avoid it.
Futin dives in and grabs Materla's left leg, looking for a takedown. Materla pushes down on Futin's head and hops out.
Futin looking to score a takedown here. Materla is defending well but Futin drives through and ends up in Materla's guard.
Materla wants to sweep here but Futin controlling him for the moment.
Futin has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Futin wanted to stand there but Materla had control of the position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Futin tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Materla swivels and escapes.
Futin gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Materla to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Futin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Materla on the ground.

Futin pushes Materla away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Materla gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

The ground and pound from Materla seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Materla is staying tight to Futin's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Futin parries the strikes from Materla easily there. Materla is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Futin to escape.

Materla tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Materla has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Futin throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Futin shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Materla but Materla pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Materla manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Futin on his heels. He'll look to pass Futin's guard now, I'm sure.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Materla stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Futin swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Materla stands and steps away. Futin gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Futin is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Futin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Futin fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Materla, pushing him back against the cage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Materla jumps into guard, dragging Futin to the mat.
Futin missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Materla escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Futin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mamed Materla dominated that round.

Futin looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Materla makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Materla has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Materla gets tackled into the cage by Futin. Futin maintains the clinch.
Futin's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Futin pushes Materla up against the cage in a clinch.
Materla is trying to pull guard but Futin turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Materla takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Aslambek Futin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mamed Materla.
Futin has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Materla regains guard immediately.
Materla pushes Futin off and scrambles back to his feet.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Futin is looking to control Materla's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Futin avoid being mounted?
Materla has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Materla looking for a guillotine from mount but Futin is having none of it.
Materla throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Futin because Materla loaded up on that one.

Materla misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Materla throwing strikes here but Futin is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Mamed Materla showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Futin tries to score a power double leg takedown but Materla sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Futin somewhat.

Materla swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Futin is now in Materla's guard. A big mistake from Materla there, giving up the dominant position!
Futin wants to control from the top but Materla keeps moving.
Futin wants to stand and escape but instead Materla has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Futin looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Materla has picked Futin up and slammed him! Futin can't keep hold of the triangle and Materla manages to pass to side control!
Materla is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Futin knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Materla works to advance to full mount. Futin defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Materla has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
