Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Curtis (ranked 708 p4p, 102 weight class) and Tank Ispa (ranked 1362 p4p, 191 weight class). Curtis comes to the cage accompanied by Russian Circles - Geneva. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Tank Ispa was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!

With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tank Ispa!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Steve Montenegro and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Curtis keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Curtis scores with the left hand. Ispa knows he should have avoided that one.
Ispa changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Ispa misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
It looked like Curtis wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Curtis steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Ispa.

A little feinted left hand from Curtis on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Ispa connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Curtis's hands.
Ispa lands with a nice combination. Curtis backs away looking to recover.

Curtis fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Ispa looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Ispa scores with a nice head shot.
Ispa throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Curtis.
Ispa uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Curtis.
Ispa moves out of range of the strikes.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Ispa has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Ispa closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Curtis blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Curtis misses with a body punch.
Ispa fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Nice body punch from Curtis.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Curtis.
Ispa swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Ispa lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Curtis fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Curtis tries to circle away but Ispa has him pinned against the cage.
Curtis lands with a short shot to the head.
Ispa misses with a body punch.
Curtis working some nice short punches in the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Curtis lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Curtis misses with a punch to the body.

Ispa pulls guard successfully.

Ispa has his feet on Curtis's thighs here. He's pushed Curtis off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Curtis screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

Tank Ispa is the new light heavyweight champion!
Tank Ispa decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
