Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jc Cobb!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rashid Magomedov!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Igor Prikhodko and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cobb tries to sprawl but Magomedov drives through with a takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Cobb looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Cobb is trying to maintain the position but Magomedov is very close to passing his half guard.
Cobb desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Cobb wants to sweep but Magomedov has passed to side control!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cobb can't do much from the bottom here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cobb manages to work his way to half guard, despite Magomedov's best efforts.

Cobb is controlling Magomedov's trapped leg to prevent Magomedov from advancing to side control.
Magomedov is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Magomedov seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Cobb has recovered full guard.

Cobb is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Magomedov defends well.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Connects with an elbow from the bottom, proving to the judges that he's still active off his back.

Magomedov sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Cobb's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Magomedov misses with an uppercut. Cobb saw that one coming.

Magomedov controls Cobb momentarily but Cobb frees himself.

Cobb decides to stand back up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Cobb is fighting off a takedown attempt but Magomedov is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Cobb to the mat. Cobb regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Rashid Magomedov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Magomedov clinches up with Cobb and pushes him back against the cage.

Magomedov works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Cobb is trying to control the position but Magomedov postures up.

Rashid Magomedov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Cobb changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Magomedov looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Well Magomedov has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
