Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tanishi Toshiyuki (ranked 6803 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ao Ki (ranked 3055 p4p, 0 weight class). Toshiyuki comes to the cage accompanied by Fuck you. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Tanishi Toshiyuki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ao Ki! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Sosuke Kotani and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ki tries to land a front kick but Toshiyuki steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Toshiyuki misses with an uppercut. Ki has a takedown stuffed. Toshiyuki jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit. That kick from Ki tenderised Toshiyuki's leg. Toshiyuki is trying to keep his angry face on. Toshiyuki lands the left hand. Toshiyuki pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Ki misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Ki throws the kick towards the body but Toshiyuki avoids it. Toshiyuki seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ki buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

A head kick misses from Ki. Toshiyuki looks to score with a jab to the body but Ki is just out of range. Toshiyuki throws a front kick aimed at Ki's knee but Ki avoids it well. Ki is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Tanishi Toshiyuki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ki drives through with a takedown into Toshiyuki's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Ki is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Ki postures up.

Ki wants to take a breather but Toshiyuki is having none of it.

Toshiyuki is staying active underneath Ki, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Toshiyuki won't allow Ki to pass to mount. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Toshiyuki looks like he's trying to stand up.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Toshiyuki tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Ki checks a leg kick nicely. Ki is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Ki scores with a head kick.

Toshiyuki throws a sloppy head kick and Ki moves out of range easily. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Toshiyuki stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Ki. A close round but Ao Ki will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Toshiyuki is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Toshiyuki might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Ki had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Toshiyuki defends it easily. Ki throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Toshiyuki stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ki swivels though and keeps the full guard. Ki looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Toshiyuki has picked Ki up and slammed him! Ki can't keep hold of the triangle and Toshiyuki manages to pass to side control! Tanishi Toshiyuki overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Toshiyuki scores with a couple of short elbows. The referee asks Toshiyuki politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Toshiyuki prefers to stall for the moment though. Ki sneaks back into half guard. Ki is looking to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Toshiyuki lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Toshiyuki not landing any meaningful shots this time. Toshiyuki knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ki on the ground. Toshiyuki landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Ki wants to control but Toshiyuki is keeping busy and won't allow it. Ki looking for submissions off his back. Ki looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Well, if Toshiyuki is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
