Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Cheech Marin (ranked 5913 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabriel Azevedo Souza (ranked 6392 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Marin might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Mexican Americans / Beaners. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Azevedo Souza gets caught napping as Marin dives in and scores a takedown. Azevedo Souza manages to retain guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Azevedo Souza is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Marin is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Azevedo Souza jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Marin is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Marin and Azevedo Souza has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

That was a close round but I would say that Cheech Marin will probably get the nod.

Marin has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Azevedo Souza avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Azevedo Souza swings wildly with an uppercut but Marin uses good head movement to avoid it.

Cheech Marin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Marin thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Marin has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Azevedo Souza is looking to cinch up a triangle. Marin throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Azevedo Souza's body to avoid the submission. Azevedo Souza has instead reached around Marin's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Azevedo Souza arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
