Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Laverne Klein (ranked 6595 p4p, 0 weight class) and Martin Wheeler (ranked 5965 p4p, 517 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Bruno Lombardi and Jonathan Paton.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wheeler closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Wheeler wants to work for an arm triangle but Klein is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Klein really is a fat lump.
Wheeler controlling the pace.

Wheeler decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
A head kick misses from Wheeler.

Klein tries to keep at a distance but Wheeler has taken the fight into the clinch.
Klein tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Come on Wheeler - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Klein jumps guard but Wheeler stands there with Klein around his waist. Klein gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Wheeler has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Klein uses from the top position.
Wheeler wants to hit a switch here but Klein passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Wheeler there!
Klein blocks Wheeler's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Klein trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Wheeler tries to hold on but Klein postures up.
Klein really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill...

Wheeler tries to buck Klein off but he can't manage it.
Wheeler tries to control the position but Klein now has his back.

Martin Wheeler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Wheeler is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Wheeler keeps trying to improve his position.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Wheeler is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Klein is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Wheeler is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Wheeler is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Klein is really struggling to control Wheeler but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Wheeler might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Klein haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Wheeler is still trying to improve position.

Klein's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Klein seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Wheeler for as long as he can get away with.
