EFA 39 Bates vs DeSilva PBP Commentary |
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bates tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
DeSilva feints the counter takedown.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Bates lands a hook to the side of the head.
DeSilva stalling in the clinch.
Bates lands with a light punch inside.
Bates can't break the clinch.
DeSilva jumps guard.
DeSilva controls Bates momentarily but Bates frees himself.
Bates got a little sloppy there for a moment and DeSilva has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bates has managed to get both his arms back between DeSilva's legs - danger averted.
DeSilva is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bates stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. DeSilva swivels though and keeps the full guard.
DeSilva looking for a triangle here. Bates is fighting it but it looks tight! DeSilva pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Bates is tapping out - this one is all over!
