Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pierre St. Georges (ranked 21 p4p, 1 weight class) and Silas Monk (ranked 86 p4p, 9 weight class). St. Georges comes to the cage accompanied by Jiu Jitsu. The crowd seem to be enjoying Monk's choice of entrance music: Fucka Bjorn. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pierre St. Georges! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
22 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Silas Monk! The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! St. Georges tries to clinch there but Monk circles away.
Monk uses good head movement to avoid the hook from St. Georges. A little jabbing left from Monk on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Monk blocks a jab. Monk swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Monk ducks under a wild hook from St. Georges. Monk connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Monk defending well as St. Georges loads up on a big left hand. St. Georges throws out a token jab with nothing on it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. St. Georges misses with an uppercut. Monk saw that one coming. St. Georges throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Monk counters with a stiff right hand. St. Georges throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
That's one minute gone in the round. Monk lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

enabling St. Georges to counter with a crisp jab. Monk tries to move into range but St. Georges moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
It looks like Silas Monk has been cut. St. Georges throws a jab when Monk was well out of range. A big right from St. Georges misses. St. Georges clinches up against the cage. St. Georges misses with a punch on the inside.

St. Georges tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Monk swings wildly with an uppercut but St. Georges uses good head movement to avoid it. St. Georges just leaning against Monk, taking a breather.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Monk breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Monk throws a body kick that misses. St. Georges loads up on a big right hand but Monk slips the punch. A little jabbing left from Monk on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. St. Georges works the jab nicely. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! St. Georges swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Monk flicks out a counter leg kick but St. Georges steps away. Monk looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. St. Georges scores with a jab to the head.
Pierre St. Georges seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. St. Georges uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Monk. St. Georges throws a combination that misses and Monk counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. St. Georges throws a body shot but no joy. Monk looks like he wants to counter punch here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. St. Georges fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Monk manages to avoid it. Monk only half commits to the counter leg kick. St. Georges misses the jab. Monk throws out a counter right but St. Georges avoids it with no problem. St. Georges lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. St. Georges throws a poor cross that misses
and Monk counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Nice jab there from St. Georges. St. Georges throws a looping overhand right but Monk ducks down to avoid it. It seemed like Monk was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Monk uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before St. Georges has time to react. Monk slips a jab and a cross from St. Georges.
Monk swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
That's four minutes gone in the round. St. Georges fails in his attempt to clinch. It seemed like Monk was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. St. Georges looks to throw the jab but Monk is out of range. Monk was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind. St. Georges uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Monk. It looked like St. Georges was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Monk. St. Georges ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Monk scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! St. Georges steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Monk. St. Georges missing with a left hand there. Monk was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Monk fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches St. Georges on the side of the head. Monk drops St. Georges with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but St. Georges looks back up at him and smiles so Monk waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
St. Georges is rocked! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Silas Monk will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Silas Monk's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Monk cracks St. Georges on the jaw with a powerful right hand and St. Georges falls backwards against the cage. Monk follows up with more strikes that drop St. Georges to his knees. Monk keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save St. Georges! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Silas Monk! Silas Monk is the new heavyweight champion! A very excited looking Silas Monk rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
