Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Severn (ranked 1960 p4p, 261 weight class) and Frank Dux (ranked 4627 p4p, 537 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 29 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Chris Severn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 22 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Dux!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Alec Ball and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Severn slips a jab and a cross from Dux.
Dux fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Severn manages to avoid it.
As Dux tries to get set, Severn tries to push him back and clinch up but Dux manages to avoid the attempt.
Severn gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Dux rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Severn counters by clinching up.
Severn goes for a takedown attempt but Dux pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Severn steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Dux.
Severn attempts a counter takedown but Dux avoids it well and moves away.
Dux swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

It looked like Severn wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dux throws out a loose jab but Severn uses good head movement to avoid it.
Dux cracks a nice hook into Severn's ribs.

Dux tries to work over Severn's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Severn pulls guard effortlessly.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Severn seems keen to control Dux's posture.

Severn is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Severn's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Well, if Severn is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
No joy there for Dux, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

and Severn counters with a nice double leg into side control. Dux won't be happy with that.
Dux wants to get back to his feet but Severn drags him back down.
Severn works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Severn is staying tight to Dux's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Severn decides to stand back up. Severn steps back and let's Dux get back to his feet.

A close round but Frank Dux will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Severn is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Severn lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Dux or not.
Severn tries to pull guard but Dux holds him up against the cage and eventually Severn drops back down to his feet.

Severn jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dux walks away with a smile on his face. Severn gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Dux throws a right hand that Severn ducks under and follows up with a left that Severn also avoids with ease.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Frank Dux showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Severn has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Dux stalks Severn and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Severn's face. Severn staggers backwards, shaken.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dux can do anything to dispel that myth.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Frank Dux comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Dux winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Frank Dux was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
