Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jay Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Super Phoenix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jay Lee! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Super Phoenix! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Phoenix shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Phoenix controlling the action here. Lee has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Phoenix is working away from the top position though. Lee tries to get to full guard but Phoenix has control of the leg. Phoenix is trying to control the action in half guard but Lee is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Phoenix might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Lee kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Lee throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. The fight stays on the outside here - Lee looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Lee gets a takedown into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Phoenix trying to control but Lee postures up.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Lee missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Phoenix moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Phoenix trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Phoenix working a defensive guard here.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Phoenix managing to control the position. Lee trying to control the position from guard on top but Phoenix is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Phoenix is looking for a triangle but Lee pushes his legs off easily.
Lee postures up.
Lee distracts Phoenix with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Lee in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Lee postures up in Phoenix's guard and throws a big left but Phoenix blocks it. Phoenix is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Lee scoring with some ground and pound. Lee has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Lee wants to control from the top but Phoenix keeps moving. Lee passes into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Phoenix trying to control from the bottom.
Lee trying to advance position but Phoenix counters by regaining guard. Lee throwing strikes but missing. Lee throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Phoenix works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Phoenix working a defensive guard here.
Lee looking to pass the guard. Lee is breathing heavily. Lee preventing the sweep. Phoenix looking to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Lee misses with the combination.
Phoenix closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Phoenix decides to stand up, so the ref orders Lee to his feet. Phoenix shoots for a takedown but Lee saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Jay Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lee gets in close and instigates a clinch. Lee with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Lee as Phoenix tries to tie him up. Phoenix tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Phoenix with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Jay Lee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Super Phoenix. Phoenix can't break the clinch.
Lee crunches a lovely knee into Phoenix's ribcage. Phoenix has had enough of the clinch but Lee keeps him there for the moment. Phoenix prevents Lee from breaking the clinch. Phoenix turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Phoenix is working Lee over with some ground and pound from side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Super Phoenix dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Phoenix clinches up with Lee and pushes him back against the ropes. Lee breaks the clinch.
Left hook, right uppercut from Phoenix. Phoenix fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Phoenix scores with a jab to the head.
Phoenix moves into range and clinches up with Lee. Phoenix with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Lee has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Phoenix is trying to keep an underhook but Lee manages to get the takedown into half guard. Lee missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Phoenix is in trouble now - Lee has advanced to mount! Phoenix really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Phoenix wants to get back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Lee punching from mount but Phoenix doing a good job of avoiding damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Phoenix tries to get back to half guard but can't. Lee trying to control but he's not successful this time. Phoenix wants to control but Lee is having none of it. Lee throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Phoenix somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet! Lee doesn't succeed with the takedown and Phoenix counters into the clinch. Nicely done. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Phoenix takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Phoenix successfully pulls guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Phoenix trying to control but he's not successful this time. Phoenix unloading with bombs! Lee is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Phoenix looking to control and managing it successfully. Lee really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Lee is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. BOOM! Phoenix connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Phoenix controlling the pace for now. Super Phoenix has got the better of the ground game so far. Phoenix looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Phoenix has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Lee is forced to tap!
