Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Carl Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Reiner Brawn! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, John Mangel and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brawn feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Johnson controls Brawn momentarily but Brawn frees himself. Brawn looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Let's hope that Brawn has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Brawn's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Brawn working some strikes from top position. Brawn is in close to Johnson's body, working some short punches and elbows. Brawn content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Brawn stands up over Johnson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Brawn connects with a couple of short punches. Brawn controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Brawn pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Johnson back to the cage. Brawn follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Johnson has taken the fight to the clinch.
Johnson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Brawn gets a takedown into half guard. Brawn slips a nice elbow through Johnson's hands, connecting with Johnson's forehead. Brawn stalling. Brawn is continuing to stall. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Johnson tries to roll over but Brawn keeps him under control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brawn working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Brawn perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Johnson on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Brawn controlling the action here. Brawn lands with a punch from half guard.

Johnson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Brawn on the ground. Johnson wants to improve his position but Brawn is controlling well.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Brawn in particular looking to stall. It looks like Reiner Brawn has been cut. Johnson looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Brawn tries to pull guard but Johnson holds him up against the cage and eventually Brawn drops back down to his feet.

Brawn clinches up with Johnson and pushes him back against the cage. Brawn tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Johnson smiles and moves away.

He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Johnson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Johnson tries to get out of the position. Johnson throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Brawn has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Brawn controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Carl Johnson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Brawn slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
And that's the end of the fight! Reiner Brawn comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Brawn has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
