Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Minor Caugh! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Connah Keates! The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Bart Greer and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Caugh doesn't manage to clinch there - Keates circles away.
Caugh tries to clinch and Keates cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. A punch combination from Keates misses. Donk. Keates catches Caugh right on the button with a cross. Caugh misses with a double jab.
Keates misses the shot to the body. Keates throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Caugh stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Caugh fails to land with a series of punches.

Caugh delivers a nice body kick. Keates bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. A head kick misses from Caugh. Caugh tries to clinch up but Keates circles away and keeps his distance. Keates stalks Caugh and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Caugh's face. Caugh staggers backwards, shaken. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Caugh gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Keates. Caugh throws out a loose jab but Keates uses good head movement to avoid it. Keates misses the shot to the body. Keates works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Keates moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Keates lands with a cross.

Caugh moves in looking to clinch but Keates pushes him off. Keates wants to counter with a clinch but Caugh pushes him away. Keates comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Caugh misses with a few strikes there.

Keates manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Keates lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Keates looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Keates circles away from the clinch attempt.

I was talking to Caugh's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Keates blocking some punches.

Keates chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Caugh can pounce on him.

He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Caugh swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Keates avoids the head kick by Caugh.

The fight stays on the outside here - Caugh looks like he's thinking about clinching though. And Keates tries to counter it with a takedown but Caugh pushes his down on his head and steps out. Keates wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Caugh tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Keates manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Keates appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Caugh wants to clinch enabling Keates to counter with a crisp jab.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Keates scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Caugh doesn't seem bothered though. Caugh wants to clinch. Caugh tries to clinch there but Keates circles away.
Caugh throws a right and a left that both miss. Caugh moves to clinch but Keates breaks away letting Keates counter with a right hand. Caugh is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Caugh is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Keates.
Caugh is rocked! Caugh misses with a left hand and Keates scores with a counter punch that sends Caugh to the canvas! Keates smells blood - he's punishing Caugh with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Caugh has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
