PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bimby Aquino (ranked 24848 p4p, 695 weight class) and Goran Firehand (ranked 25702 p4p, 716 weight class). Firehand has chosen Thunderstruck as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Firehand has Aquino up against the cage in a clinch.
Aquino on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Our sources have told us that Aquino has been working on his elbows in the gym.

Firehand does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

It looked like Aquino was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

A jab-cross combination lands for Firehand and sends Aquino crashing to the mat! Firehand follows him down to the mat - Aquino regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

The strikes coming from Firehand are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Aquino seems to have got his legs back now.
Aquino pushes Firehand away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Firehand gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Goran Firehand showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Aquino lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Firehand has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Firehand and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Goran Firehand decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
