PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Reilly (ranked 7878 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tuggy Boone (ranked 6091 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jason Reilly!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tuggy Boone!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Jonathan Paton and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Boone shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Reilly manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Reilly is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Boone presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Boone is trying to trip Reilly. He has hold of a leg but Reilly is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Boone persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Reilly manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Boone escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Reilly really is a fat lump.

Boone closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Reilly bucks up and tries to throw Boone off but instead Boone has got his back!
Boone biding his time, controlling Reilly.
Boone keeps control of the position as Reilly tries to break free.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Boone controlling the position well here. Reilly rolled but Boone kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Boone throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Reilly has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.

Boone is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Reilly has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Reilly knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Boone on the ground.

Boone has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Reilly has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Boone is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Reilly is tapping out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Tuggy Boone!
