Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Seong Hyeon Lee! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Rogan! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lee stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lee wants it to stay on the feet. Lee scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Rogan shoots for a double leg takedown but Lee sprawls well. He's pushed Rogan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Rogan fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Seong Hyeon Lee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Rogan. Rogan misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Rogan is looking to clinch but Lee is avoiding it.
Lee scores with a punch to the head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rogan has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Rogan there as he acknowledges the shot. Rogan needs to keep his hands up - Lee had a free shot at his head there. Rogan goes for a double leg but Lee avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Lee continues to drive forward. Lee works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lee connects with a jab. Lee sizes up Rogan with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Rogan walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Rogan takes a jab right on the kisser.
Lee is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Rogan misses with a takedown attempt and Lee counters with a stiff right hand. Rogan feints and as Lee raises his hands in defense, Rogan changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Lee looking to control.
Lee is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Rogan is aware though and is defending well. Rogan must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Lee looking for a guillotine here but Rogan defends easily.
This has been an exciting period of action! Lee looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lee throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Rogan escapes and throws Lee's legs to the side, diving into side control! Rogan trying to control the position but Lee is working away. Lee manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Rogan wants to get back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lee not landing any meaningful shots this time. Lee looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Rogan is looking for a sweep. Lee is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Lee is thwarting Rogan's attempts to control the position. Lee is working for a kimura but Rogan is defending it quite comfortably.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Rogan has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lee is working away from the top position though. Lee seems to be working for a kimura but Rogan defends the submission attempt. Lee works his way into side control. Rogan is trying to improve his position. Lee wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Rogan, who protects the arm well. Rogan defending against the ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lee stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Rogan on the wrong end of a nice jab. Nice shot lands for Lee. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rogan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Rogan controlling from the top position. Lee is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Rogan defends well. Rogan wants to stand but Lee is controlling his posture from full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Lee working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rogan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Lee is tightening it up a little... Rogan has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Rogan reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Rogan taps out! Nice BJJ there by Lee!
