Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bricks Thrower (ranked 3420 p4p, 438 weight class) and Duc Minh Pham (ranked 5375 p4p, 595 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bricks Thrower! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Duc Minh Pham! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thrower misses with a body kick. Nice shot lands for Thrower.
It looks like Duc Minh Pham has been cut. Thrower wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Thrower throws a body shot but no joy. Pham rushes Thrower and presses him up against the cage. Nice elbow from Thrower. Thrower connects with a knee to the head.
Pham scores with an uppercut up the middle. Thrower wants to break free but Pham has control.
Pham misses with some punches.
Pham lands a body shot in the clinch.
Pham lands a shoulder strike. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Thrower escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Pham misses with a hook. Thrower ducked under it nicely. As Pham tries to get set, Thrower tries to push him back and clinch up but Pham manages to avoid the attempt. Thrower tries to move into range but Pham moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Thrower tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Pham throws out a counter right but Thrower avoids it with no problem. Pham throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Thrower tries to clinch up but Pham circles away and keeps his distance. Thrower rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Pham moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pham avoids a punch combination nicely.
Thrower blocks a leg kick. Pham misses with a looping right. Thrower walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Thrower pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Pham looks to land a left hand but Thrower moved out of range nicely. Thrower moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Thrower has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Pham finds it's way round the side to connect with Thrower's head. Pham scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Thrower lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pham circles away quickly and effectively. Thrower takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Thrower takes a swing at Pham's ribcage but misses. Pham lands a glancing blow to the side of Thrower's head. We've been told by Thrower's head coaches at 3Band MMA ($800/week) that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Pham takes a swing at Thrower's ribcage but misses. Thrower ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Thrower fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A little jabbing left from Pham on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters circle momentarily. Pham darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Thrower is rocked! Thrower forces Pham back against the cage and clinches. Oh Thrower is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Pham tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. A head punch blocked on the inside by Thrower. A head punch blocked on the inside by Thrower. Pham throws a head punch that misses. Thrower trying to control the position but instead, Pham has worked for underhooks and has pushed Thrower into the cage. The referee calls for Pham to work.
Thrower is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Pham misses with a hook from the clinch. Thrower is trying to break the clinch but Pham has him pressed against the cage. Thrower seems to have got his legs back now. Pham pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Thrower misses with a takedown attempt - Pham sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Pham looks like he wants to counter punch here. Pham lands an overhand right. Pham looks to land a combination but Thrower avoids it well. Thrower pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Pham back to the cage. Thrower follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Thrower throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Pham stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Pham throws a shot from downtown. Thrower moves away and avoids it. Thrower swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Thrower takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Pham has taken the fight to the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pham lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Thrower to his knees! Pham keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Duc Minh Pham! During a confident post fight interview, Duc Minh Pham thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
