Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Steven Glass! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Joe Dingley! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Steven Brown and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dingley scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Glass shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dingley but Dingley pushes him off and we're back to square one. Dingley throws a nice looking combination but Glass bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. No joy there for Dingley, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Glass fails to land the takedown. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Dingley throws a right and a left that Glass avoids nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dingley throws a series of strikes that have Glass backpedaling.
Joe Dingley is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Dingley throws a right and a left that both miss. Glass fails with the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steven Glass. That's going to take a lot out of him. Glass bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dingley is not content to let Glass control the position. An elbow from Glass crashes against the mat.
Dingley is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Dingley defending against the ground and pound. Dingley is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Glass trying to control the action but Dingley is working from the bottom. Glass postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Glass is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Dingley is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Dingley dodges the ground and pound from Glass. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Glass creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Dingley sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Glass stands up. Dingley connects with a crisp jab.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dingley throws a series of punches but Glass moves out of range. Glass shoots in looking for a takedown. Dingley tries to sprawl out of it but Glass keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dingley manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Dingley lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Steven Glass will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Dingley sizes up Glass with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Dingley throws a combination. Glass tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Dingley lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

That's one minute gone in the round. Glass shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dingley as he jumps to the side. Left hook, right uppercut from Dingley. Glass shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Glass drops back looking for a leg! Dingley is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dingley manages to kick Glass off! Glass jumps back into Dingley's guard. Dingley is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Glass is controlling him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Glass slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Glass is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Dingley is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Glass is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Dingley is trying to escape and Glass transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Dingley is forced to tap! Nice work there by Glass! Very nice indeed!
