Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bruno Italo (ranked 3785 p4p, 412 weight class) and Ari Ahikaroa (ranked 9533 p4p, 729 weight class). Bruno Italo is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ahikaroa shoots in looking for a takedown. Italo tries to sprawl out of it but Ahikaroa keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Italo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Italo drops down looking for a counter takedown but Ahikaroa sprawls and moves away.
Ahikaroa shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Italo napping and manages to drive through into side control!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've been hearing good reports from Italo's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Italo has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Italo and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Italo has control of Ahikaroa's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Ahikaroa regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Ahikaroa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Italo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
