The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Brown Jr prevents Stanton from breaking the clinch.
Brown Jr looking for a takedown.
Stanton lands an uppercut.
Stanton is pressed up against the cage. Brown Jr has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Stanton down to the mat. Stanton avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Stanton shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Brown Jr trying to hold on to Stanton's head to control him but Stanton postures up.
Brown Jr moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stanton won't allow Brown Jr to sweep him here.
Brown Jr is pulling down on Stanton's head. It's preventing any offense from Stanton, at least for the moment.
Brown Jr doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Stanton has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Brown Jr is proving hard to escape from.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Stanton stands up over Brown Jr, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Stanton with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Brown Jr thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Stanton gets to his feet. Brown Jr looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Stanton gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Stanton lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Brown Jr backwards.
Brown Jr tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Stanton scores with a hook to the body.
A nice right hand lands inside from Stanton.

Stanton escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Brown Jr dives in and grabs Stanton's left leg, looking for a takedown. Stanton pushes down on Brown Jr's head and hops out.
Clyde Stanton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Brown Jr.

Stanton throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Stanton breaks from the clinch.

Stanton moves into range and clinches up with Brown Jr.
Stanton lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Brown Jr to his knees! Stanton keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
