Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Albert Aliev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Halid Magomedov!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Illya Tyunina and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Magomedov tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Aliev was well out of range. Poor timing from Magomedov.
Aliev shoots for a double leg takedown but Magomedov sprawls well. He's pushed Aliev's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Magomedov circles away from the clinch attempt
and Magomedov counters with a single leg into guard. Aliev didn't expect that.
Aliev has momentary wrist control but Magomedov slips an elbow through the middle.
Magomedov passes into half guard.
Nice strikes from Magomedov there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Magomedov content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Magomedov takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
That's one minute gone in the round.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Magomedov is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Aliev defends it well.
Magomedov seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Magomedov passes the guard and advances to mount!

Magomedov is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Aliev can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Magomedov tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Magomedov looking for a guillotine from mount but Aliev is having none of it.
Magomedov looking to isolate an arm here. Aliev doesn't see it coming and as Magomedov extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Magomedov!
