The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Hightower closes the distance and clinches up with Jones, looking for a takedown. Hightower pushes Jones against the cage but Jones circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
A combination from Jones does no damage.
Hightower walks into a jab.
No luck for Hightower with that takedown attempt.
Jones falls off balance throwing a combination
and Hightower counters with a nice leg kick.

A bit of stalling here from Hightower.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jones fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Hightower's coach down at Vinny’s Gym *MLC sponsored gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Hightower's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Hightower doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Hightower scores with a spinning back kick!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hightower darts in looking for a takedown but Jones gets double underhooks and turns Hightower into the cage.
Eli Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Hightower.

Jones feints a kick and comes over the top with a right hand, followed by a left hook - both land, sending Hightower crashing to the mat! This one is all over!
