Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Enver Gashi (ranked 4150 p4p, 326 weight class) and Gato Wali (ranked 9211 p4p, 485 weight class). Gato Wali is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Enver Gashi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gato Wali! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gashi shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Wali as he avoids it easily. Wali looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Gashi will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Gashi fails to land the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Enver Gashi. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wali moves out of range of the strikes. Gashi shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Wali pinned against the cage. Wali gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. We've been told by Gashi's head coaches at Kalashnikov ELITE MMA Gym ($600/Week) that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Wali gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Gashi to score an easy takedown into full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gashi controlling from the top position. Gashi is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gashi is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Gashi's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Gashi throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Gashi loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Gashi slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Gashi might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. It's a sloppy attempt though and Gashi jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Gashi is looking to work some ground and pound but Wali has wrist control. Gashi controls from within his opponent's guard.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gashi shoots in but Wali avoids the takedown attempt easily. Gashi drives through with a takedown into guard. Gashi with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Wali told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Gashi landing some decent shots from guard. Gashi slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Gashi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Gashi seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Wali for as long as he can get away with.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gashi connects with a couple of short punches. Wali being controlled here, momentarily. Further stalling from Gashi. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wali is letting Gashi control him for a moment. Wali is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gashi is putting a hurting on Wali here, landing some big shots from side control. Wali is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Gashi works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Gashi takes a little break here. Wali wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Enver Gashi overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Gashi working the body and head with strikes. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gashi landing a few strikes.
Wali is rocked!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gashi controls the position from side control. Wali is still in real trouble! Can Gashi finish him? Gashi tries for a kimura but Wali is defending well. Gashi working away. Wali seems to have recovered his senses. Gashi takes a little break here. Wali wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gashi is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Wali looks calm but he's in trouble here. Gashi gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Wali is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Gashi lets go of the hold and Wali can pop his arm back in it's socket.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Enver Gashi! An out of breath and clearly excited Enver Gashi thanked Annihilation Apparel for their help and support (and free stuff they sent him). Gato Wali was interviewed post fight and said 'Not over yet. We are coming back better than today.'.
